Robert "Bob" Karrmann

October's Member Spotlight features Robert "Bob" Karrmann from Westgor Funeral Home. Bob graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in hotel restaurant management and a strong desire to serve others. He thrived in a fast-paced environment and strived to achieve tasks with precision and excellence. After working a 110-hour-long week, Bob contemplated switching careers and heard about funeral service from a friend. This close friend encouraged Bob to submit his resume to the job board on WFDA! A funeral home in Eau Claire reached out to Bob in 1993, and thus, began his apprenticeship and involvement in funeral

service. Currently, he has been a proud funeral director at Westgor for over 26 years! He was able to become a co-owner in 2009, when able to purchase the Funeral Business from Ted Westgor. Bob is passionate about every aspect of funeral service, from assisting families during their moments of need to planning and orchestrating a well-executed service. Following a successful funeral service, it brings Bob immense satisfaction and gratification to know that the family's wishes were fulfilled during their period of hardship.

Bob's journey with WFDA began when his career in funeral service began; from applying through WFDA for an apprenticeship, serving on the Board for the Fox River Valley District and a term as their President, and his current role as District Representative on the board for Fox River Valley. Overall, he enjoys being actively engaged and encourages others to contribute to their districts. Bob believes that serving on the board of directors is a great way to give back to the membership and instill his passion for funeral service in others. Westgor’s is hosting one of the Fall Conferences being offered around the state this October. Some significant benefits of WFDA for Bob personally include the health insurance plan as well as

our lobbyist, Rebecca Hogan. Rebecca is doing a great job representing and fighting for WFDA and its members.

Bob is very fortunate to have a fantastic staff of funeral directors, who all provide exceptional service to families, and he is very proud of his daughter, Keira, who recently graduated from Bob's Alma Mater, Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL, in September of 2021. Keira has now joined Bob working at Westgor's.

In his free time, Bob loves to golf, spend time in the Three Lakes area with family, including his four dogs, and traveling with his wife, Kim.
